Shell process

Shell molding refers to a method of molding a hard thin shell with a thickness of 6-12.5mm by contacting resin sand with metal preheated to 150-350 ° C to form a cavity consistent with the contour of the mold
Advantages:

①The casting has high dimensional accuracy and small machining allowance.

② The surface of the casting is smooth and clean.

③ Can cast thin-walled castings.

④ Casting scrap rate is low.

⑤ Improved productivity

Disadvantages:

① Use metal molds, consume more energy, add more resin, and cost more.

② The sand mixing process is more complicated.

③ The cost is high and it is not suitable for casting large pieces.
